To achieve this, KUAS is creating an open hub where individuals from diverse professional backgrounds can collaborate while also providing personnel to support these efforts.

About Us

Kameoka City, the Kameoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Kyoto University of Advanced Science are collaborating to drive regional development.

Purpose

We promote industrial innovation through advanced technologies and enhance agricultural value through biotechnology. Our goal is to contribute to regional economic revitalization and support Japan’s sustainable economic growth.

Operations

We are establishing an organizational framework in partnership with Kameoka City, the Kameoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Kyoto University of Advanced Science. By integrating insights from external experts, we aim to manage the center efficiently and effectively.

On the Kyoto Kameoka Campus of Kyoto University of Advanced Science, we are developing key facilities, including:

- An Open Innovation Hub
- An Implementation and Training Facility
- Outdoor test tracks and proving grounds
- A Smart Agriculture Greenhouse
- A Food Development Center

Research
Open Innovation

Aiming for decarbonization and a circular society, we foster the local development of new technologies and services to create new value. Our center provides spaces and opportunities for students, businesses, and researchers to collaborate, exchange ideas, and expand their knowledge.

Mobility Innovation

We promote the adoption of new mobility technologies, including autonomous driving and next-generation transportation systems, while integrating data to minimize environmental impact and enhance both mobility and everyday convenience.

 

Our research and educational programs serve a diverse audience, including insurance professionals, automotive mechanics, and the general public. We offer recurrent education programs to improve EV literacy.

 

In collaboration with university professors, we conduct advanced experiments on implementing cutting-edge technologies, such as inverters. Additionally, we provide access to testing tracks and facilities for venture companies and organizations developing autonomous driving technologies.

Green Innovation

We conduct research and educational initiatives focused on revitalizing local agriculture and forestry, transforming community and social systems, and fostering new industries.

 

Smart Agriculture: We provide an environment for studying vegetable growth, enhancing nutritional functionality, visualizing cultivation techniques, and preserving agricultural expertise.

 

Forest Management: We offer training on visualizing forest resource data and analyzing regional and geographical information. Our goal is to develop skilled professionals, particularly municipal forest management personnel, in response to the implementation of the Forest Environment Tax.

We offer courses and seminars for engineers, technicians, and other professionals to support workforce development and recurrent education in various industries.

Research and Development Support Program

R&D Support Program

We provide facilities and equipment for corporate R&D activities and facilitate joint R&D projects between university laboratories and companies on specific themes.

We host lectures and events on cutting-edge industrial and scientific technologies for elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as the general public.

We are developing a platform to support corporate R&D through collaboration with universities, research institutions, industry support organizations, and financial institutions.

Corporate Location Promotion Program

Corporate Attraction and Investment Program

With the support of the Open Innovation Center, we collaborate with Kyoto Prefecture and Kameoka City to attract businesses and promote corporate investment in the Kameoka area.
